Principles of ecological management

Gazprom Energoholding LLC is committed to the principles of sustainable development based on balanced combination of economic growth and preservation of favorable environment for future generations.

On March 31, 2017, pursuant to the scientific and technical council’s decision the Ecological policy of Gazprom Energoholding LLC was adopted.

Management of environmental protection activities in the regions of the company’s operation is carried out at all stages of production by structural divisions of Ecology direction, in compliance with the Ecological policy, under the uniform ecological standards and is coordinated by the unit of the production director.

In order to ensure the complex approach and coordination of activities of Gazprom Energoholding Group companies, the Coordination committee for environmental protection has been functioning on a constant basis since 2016.

Activity Areas

The main activity fields of Gazprom Energoholding Group companies are production of power energy and capacity with delivery to the wholesale market, production of heat energy, transportation, distribution and sales of heat energy to ultimate consumers. It is inevitably connected with use of natural resources and with the impact on the environment. The companies recognize their responsibility towards the society for preservation of favorable environment and maintenance of ecological safety.

Gazprom Energoholding LLC carries out assessment of ecological indicators of its subsisdiaries and the analysis of ecological monitoring results, also participates in establishment of goals and future directions its subsidiaries’ development. Ecological indicators are being published in annual reports of the companies.

Disposal of bottom-ash waste

In order to decrease negative impact of bottom-ash waste on the environment and organize coordinated actions for bottom-ash waste utilization, their conversion to bottom-ash materials and to identify best practices and exchange experience in work organization, a work group for bottom-ash waste (materials) disposal issues was set up in 2018.
