In order to develop the Agreement on strategic cooperation of Gazprom Energoholding LLC and Siemens LLC, Denis Fedorov and Alexander Liberov signed the Memorandum of Intent. According to the document, the joint work group to assess possibilities is created and it shall elaborate the issues of organization of a joint venture for manufacture of high-technology equipment in Russia, in particular, vacuum generator circuit breakers and the corresponding spare parts.

The work group shall prepare a project plan of creation of a joint venture, which will be presented for decision-making at corporate levels. In case of positive decisions, start of manufacture of the equipment with localization of no less than 50 % should take place no later than 2020, and by 2022, it is foreseen to achieve the localization level of no less than 75 %.

A new production site can be launched on the basis of Siemens assembly shop in Dubna situated in Podmoskovye. It is expected that the enterprise will be engaged in designing, installation, commissioning of vacuum generator circuit breakers and provide necessary maintenance support. It is also planned to create a training centre to prepare experts in operation of vacuum generator circuit breakers. Formation of this powerful production and engineering base shall enable improvement of generator technologies on a constant basis with use of Russian scientific and technical potential.

“During the execution of the Agreement on strategic cooperation, which we concluded last May, our companies carried out preparatory work to analyze demands of Gazprom Energoholding Group companies in vacuum circuit breakers and selection of optimal technical solutions for reconstruction of the equipment. As a result of this work, preconditions were created for joint implementation of investment projects. Now the given possibilities will be considered at even more detailed level” — noted Denis Fedorov.

“Manufacture localization is one of priority directions in business development for us. Currently, Siemens has a number of production sites in the field of electric technical equipment in Russia. I am convinced that our technologies and accumulated experience will help to set up production of modern vacuum generator circuit breakers with maximum localization for such an important partner as Gazprom Energoholding LLC”, — said Alexander Liberov.
